Delicious pan seared steak finished in the oven with a pat of compound butter.
Coat the steak with oil and sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides.
Pre-heat oven to 450º F.
Place the pan either on a medium-high burner or on the oven as it preheats to heat up the pan.
Once the pan is heated add oil to the pan and sear the steak on the first side for 2 to 3 minutes.
Optionally, sear the sides of the steak.
Turn the steak and place some butter on top of the steak. Place the pan in the oven immediately. Set the timer for about 4 to 6 minutes depending on the desired doneness.
Remove from oven and add more compound butter if desired. Let rest 2 minutes and serve immediately.
